This Pearl Ring is made using a real cultured pearl. The only difference is that it isn’t perfectly round.
The way these pearls are made is that the producer introduces a grain of sand or a bead into the oyster. This is seen as a foreign body and so the oyster begins to coat it and continues to do so many times. This creates the pearl. Sometimes the oyster simply doesn’t coat it evenly which is when these “failed or blown pearls” are made. They are no less real than a perfectly round one and in my opinion they have a lot more character as they are all a little different.
